Vangelis: The Unknown Man - Complete

Vangelis: The Unknown Man - Complete

Vangelis: The Unknown Man - was originally started over 40 years ago. The original, a mere 92 plus pages, was issued in 1994 with a black cover. This edition elicited feedback enough to write an expanded second edition late in 1997 of 176 pages which expanded the text and corrected the errors within with a light blue cover.

In those days there was little email or internet so research had to be done “physically” in libraries, by phone calls, by visits and letters – it was sometimes a battle – certainly with no input from Vangelis' camp – to ensure information was correct and complete. Information was gathered from album sleeve notes and information was gather from the books, magazine and newspapers as well as telephone and visits to meet collaborators.

The text for the new “Complete” edition was updated gradually from 1998 such that by 2012 I aimed to produce an updated edition. Sadly, “real life” interrupted and my day job, other projects including books, a feature film and then a documentary took over. I finally found space in 2024 to complete the work.

Fortunately, the internet gives us a wealth of excellent sources of Vangelis information with a treasure of TV, radio, magazine and newspaper interviews. In addition, the new wealth of websites were referenced with grateful acknowledgement to update and check the new edition.
